Yoga on the Beach with Cassie

Yoga on the beach real Bliss! – Cassie Cawston

It’s no secret that I am addicted to chocolate! I often experiment with making sugar free alternatives and this Choc Orange Bliss Ball recipe is by far one of my favourites! Decadent from the richness of the raw cacao, caramelly from the gooey dates combined with the sweetness of the fresh orange. These truffle-like bliss balls will be sure to impress and can be enjoyed almost guilt free!

With Spring fast approaching they are the perfect little snack for on the go, a pre-yoga session or perhaps before a morning surf. Packed with protein, magnesium and antioxidants they are a natural energy booster, that will keep you going for hours or get you through that 3pm sugar slump!

Why not make as a dessert for your next dinner party or simply enjoy with a cup of English Breakfast tea. This chocolatey, fudgey treat will be sure to please.

I tempt you to try this recipe, you won’t be disappointed!

Ep 14 -Yoga on the Beach

Choc Orange Bliss Balls

Ingredients

1 cup raw mixed nuts

1 cup Medjool dates (8-10 pitted dates)

1/3 cup desiccated coconut

¼ cup raw cacao powder

1 tbs chia seeds

1 tbs organic honey

1 ½ tbs freshly squeezed orange juice

½ tsp orange zest

½ tsp ground cinnamon

Pinch sea salt

Extra Cacao powder and or desiccated coconut to coat the bliss balls and make them look pretty!

Method

Blitz nuts in a food processor until coarsely chopped. The mix should be slightly chunky to help hold the balls together.

Remove the seeds from the dates and add the dates to the food processor, blitz again until well combined.

Zest and juice the orange, reserve any extra orange juice in case more liquid is required.

Add all of the remaining ingredients to the food processor and blitz until the mixture comes together.

Using your hands roll level tablespoons of mixture into balls. Once complete, then roll half the balls in Cocao and the other half in the desiccated coconut. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set.

Store in a mason jar in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze to maintain freshness and ensure that you have an endless supply of healthy snacks for on the go!
