The Chocolate Crackle Returns

The humble “Chocolate Crackle”. Often when we hear the term ‘Chocolate Crackle’, we are immediately cast back to our childhood days where we attended birthday parties and a staple on the party food menu was the humble chocolate crackle. Remember the recipe was always on the back of the Kellogg’s Rice Bubble box? The colourful patty pans, the familiar taste and smell?

In some families (ok, mine!) the Chocolate Crackle never disappeared but evolved somewhat. They always seem to find their way to a birthday or celebration.

As I’ve grown older, I often wondered about leaving out the Copha. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty who say a Chocolate Crackle isn’t a Chocolate Crackle if it doesn’t have Copha but I wanted to give something else a try. After lots of different attempts, I’ve come up with a recipe that works for me.

No Copha necessary, 3 ingredients only. Quick, easy and above all, absolutely delicious. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Ingredients:

1 x Bag Nestle Milk Chocolate Melts 290g

2 Cups Rice Bubbles

3/4 Cup Desiccated Coconut

Method:

Melt chocolate in a microwave safe bowl for approximately 60 seconds followed by 10 second bursts until melted.

Combine Rice Bubbles and Coconut in a bowl. Mix through melted chocolate until all rice bubbles are covered in chocolate. Place in your favourite patty pans! Set in fridge and then enjoy!

Note: Chocolate Crackles can be decorated with your choice of sprinkles or even red and green M&M’s for Christmas time!
