Gundagai  is a town in New South Wales, Australia. Although a small town, Gundagai is a popular topic for writers and has become a representative icon of a typical Australian country town.


Located along the Murrumbidgee River and Muniong, Honeysuckle, Kimo, Mooney Mooney, Murrumbidgee and Tumut mountain ranges, Gundagai is 390 kilometres (240 mi) south-west of Sydney

It’s a perfect spot to stop, break your trip, explore the town, meet the friendly locals and gain a great insight into Australia’s pioneering past. There are plenty of interesting and fun things to see and do in and around Gundagai.

The next great event in Gundagai is the Battle of the Bidgee coming up on 6th October 2017

  • You are invited to be part of the ‘Battle on the Bidgee Stockman’s Challenge’, 6th, 7th and 8th October 2017 for three exciting days of competition and entertainment!

    The first two days of competition consist of the challenge preliminary events; Stock Handling, Packhorse, Whip Crack, Bareback Obstacle, Horseshoeing, Dry Working Pattern and Cross Country. Day three is finals time, Brumby Catch and Poley Buckjump for the top 10 Open competitors, Brumby Catch and Time Trial for top 3 Lady riders and the top 3 Juniors will battle it out in a Time Trial and Steer Ride.
